We’ve all been there. The morning after. After what? A long night of good food and wine, that’s what. We know the symptoms: the pounding headache, the exhaustion, the cotton wool tongue. We know your New Year’s Resolution is one of moderation, but on the odd occasion of over-indulgence, here’s what you should do, according to Winefolly.
1. Wake up early. Being awake kickstarts your metabolism, which starts your recovery process. Set your alarm clock if you have to.
2. Go for a short run, or slightly longer walk. We know, we know, but a 10 minute jog or 30 minute walk will really get your blood flowing and move the toxins out.
3. Drink water immediately, and set a phone alarm to drink a glass every hour. If you are queasy, ad a teaspoon of baking soda to settle the nausea.
4. If the baking soda kicks in, banish the last of the hangover with a breakfast stacker at Graze the Excelsior deli. We’re open 10 am – 3 pm. To book, phone 023 615 1980.
