Through the centuries people came to consider 18 wines as “noble”. These have widespread appeal and are planted in the world’s major wine producing areas. Of course the French influence is seen in this collection of a select few, but there are also wines like Malbec and Zinfandel that grew to popularity outside of France.
The 18 noble grapes, according to Winefolly, are:
•    Pinot Noir
•    Grenache
•    Merlot
•    Sangiovese

•    Cabernet Sauvignon
•    Shiraz
•    Malbec
•    Pinot Grigio
•    Riesling
•    Sauvignon blanc
•    Chenin blanc
•    Moscato
•    Gewürztraminer
